Trade Republic: investing and saving for the whole range of society

These are our candidates for the “FinTech of the Year” : Trade Republic Bank GmbH

The industry has grown up and has long outgrown its infancy. There are so many companies that shape the industry but not all of them are equally well known. Who are the companies that are the glue between finance and digital technologies?

We still consider it important and relevant to give an award to the most interesting and most relevant German FinTech/Startups. An award from the industry in which we are all active, for the industry. Not bought, not externally influenced, reserved for our independence. As we are diverse and furthermore everyone has different views and focuses, this has always resulted in a good mix. The nominations come from the heart, but the final evaluation process is done by us and is completely detached from us.

For the second part of the Transactions 20 conference on 25.02.2021 in Frankfurt we want to award the prize for Fintech of the year 2020 to lend. In total we have 15 Fintechs nominatedwhich the jury will evaluate in the next weeks according to certain categories. As every year, you are in demand as a strong voice of the Fintech community to give out the audience award for your voting. The voting is already liveNevertheless, we would like to give the nominated companies the opportunity to present themselves.

The Trade Republic Bank business model

Technology company with bank license

The Trade Republic Bank’s state-of-the-art digital infrastructure was programmed and built by the bank itself. This enables the bank to quickly expand its range of products and services by adding new investment products and functions, which it is continuously expanding in close dialogue with the Trade Republic community.

By using modern technologies, even complex processes can be automated and carried out in real time. This increases customer comfort and reduces costs considerably. Unlike traditional banks or brokers, about half of Trade Republic’s employees work in IT development.

All systems are operated in secure external high-performance data centers in Germany. This outsourcing reduces costs and at the same time enables the best possible accessibility in all market phases. Brokers usually receive a refund from their trading partners. Trade Republic Bank uses its cost savings in combination with this reimbursement to the benefit of its customers. These results in a disruptive business model: mobile and commission-free securities trading. For settlement, only an external cost flat rate of one euro per trading transaction is charged; share and ETF savings plans can be saved permanently free of charge.
